What On Earth Does One Write?

Blogs.

I have always been a bit averse to these things; I mean, why would anyone want to read the rambling rants of a GOM? (That's Grumpy Old Man). I am not sure that my ego is big enough to let me think that anyone would be even remotely interested, to be honest!

OK, not so old - 40 - but in today's world I sometimes feel very old indeed!

Am I a "Geek" even? Well, yes, I think so. I do not work in IT - I am a photographer. However, now that my workflow is digital, my Macs and so on are as much a part of my life as my cameras, so I guess that qualifies me.

At the moment I have a dual 2.7 G5 and a MacBook Pro. I want to upgrade the G5 to an Intel machine because I have noticed how much better the recent software runs on the MBP. I like the idea of the new iMac 3.06 but I dislike the glossy screen and the fact that it will not run a 30" monitor as a second display.

Mind you, the way that food prices are rocketing worldwide, I am thinking that I ought to be a dairy farmer instead!! Perhaps I could afford the kit I want then!
