OK. It has been raining for at least 40 days and 40 nights now - I'm sure of it!

I walked the dog up through the olive grove earlier and there is standing water on the ground and yet only a few months ago we were in drought restrictions. The weather seems to have become quite a thing of extremes.

I have almost 20 acres of grass that needs mowing, yet I dare not get the tractor out even when the rain stops, because the ground is just too wet. Even our pond is full to the brim - yet normally it holds nothing because it leaks into the surrounding soil - so that just shows how saturated the place must be.

So, I am stuck in the office listening to tunes and post-processing images - and wishing I had a much bigger monitor on which to do it! I am definitely going to get a 30" one soon.

Sorry - very British of me to moan about the weather, but there we are!

Ha ha.  Come over to the weather coast of the Solomon Islands.  The average annual rainfall is about 18 metres!

Oddly, my first girlfriend (many moons have passed since then...!) grew up in the Solomon Islands.
Her father was a doctor and she and her sister used to fly back to the UK to go to school which is where we met.
18 metres sounds a bit serious though - I think I'd need a boat and I allegedly live in one of the driest places in NZ!!
