Mobile Me - Or is it?

Mobile Me - good in practice, not so sure about the execution.

My wife has been without email for 3 days now, missing out on business-critical communications. No useful explanation has been provided by Apple, Support is virtually impossible to contact and to claim that only 1% of users are affected seems disingenuous given the vast numbers of irate posts on Apple Support!

The theory is great but a better tagline might be "Exchange For (Some Of) The Rest of Us"!

Apple may well become a victim of their own success, I think.Undecided

Should your wife be relying on cloud email for "business critical" communications??

Well, of course she wasn't until Apple decided to change the goalposts! It used to be just Dot Mac and now of course everyone has her email, it is on business stationary and so on.

I have all my business critical email going to a domain I own and can point anywhere anytime. My mail flows automactially into webmail systems on two seperate servers, as well as pop/imap access on a seperate server.

Its a cold day in hell when I can't get my email, and I would NEVER entrust my critical communications to a domain name I didn't control (@xtra @mobileme or whatever).

Make the move NOW and it will never happen again. Plenty of <$100 per year NZ based hosts around, plus $30 or so for a domain name.

This will sound odd given the name of the forum, but here we go!
I actually own at least 2 domain names! Both of which have websites on them.
I have not the faintest idea how to achieve what you suggest though.
