iPhone Heaven

It's been a while.
We had the builders in and were decorating etc - what can I say? I'm lazy..!
Geek-wise, life has developed a bit.
I now have a Drobo unit hooked up to my Mac, running two 1Tb drives. It's very good and I like it a lot. Getting it set up took a few days of minor issues - almost all of which were sorted when they released new firmware anyway. I recommend it, but only on the FW800 connection.
As of this week, I also took the plunge and splurged out on a new 16Gb iPhone. I am very impressed with it in fact; as an Apple person, it made sense to stay with the family (yes, I know that is what the Apple Marketeers want me to do - but who cares: it works for me!) as all my calendars, music, email and so on is Apple based.
The phone is a joy to use although it has some odd things - no 'To Do' function, for example unless you go 3rd party Apps. I would like the camera to have been 5Mp (I don't expect it to match my Nikon D3's but 2Mp is a bit weedy these days) and the lack of the iCal 'Week View' is a very strange omission.
It would have been very Apple if turning the phone to landscape whilst in calendar mode automatically opened a 7 day week view. Maybe they will do that with a software update soon as I am sure that I am not the only user who would like to see it.
In case anyone is wondering about the colour...it's white. To me, an iconic Apple colour and who wants yet another all black phone in a world of black phones?
Also got a great case to keep it safe made by the excellently-named Otter Box company. I don't think that we have otters in NZ (sadly) but there we are.
Hope everyone has a great Labour Day weekend - it's forecast to rain here all weekend!! Typical. Undecided
