This is a joint development by Telecom, Navman and CatalystIT you can read more about it and see a demo on the Silent-i website.
Silent-i is a GPS/CDMA tracking system with alarm monitoring for vehicles. There have been similar products before but what sets this service apart is the interaction with a handset. From my cell phone I can request the location of my car and arm/disarm the alarm. I can geo-fence the car so if the car travels outside of the geo-fence an alert is sent to my cell phone. The car state is monitored 24 hours a day by Tyco.
There are many more features outlined on the Silent-i website.
