Time to blame the government?

By Gary R, in , posted: 6-Mar-2007 14:58

If the NZ Herald is to be believed major decisions around telecommunications regulation are being held up due to a skill 'shortage' at the MED.

My suggestion is that MED should hand out flyer's around Telecom Tory St where there are plenty of people with a great deal of experience in the sector.

Some of those made redundant or displaced from Telecom (because of the recent regulatory decisions) could still be looking for employment.

I find it inexcusable that a government which is insisting on such wide ranging changes to the industry in a very tight time frame did not have the foresight to consider that more resource would be required.

Remember folks that each 6 figure earning employee added to the 'regulation' team is being paid for by you and I.

For the record I am happy to admit that for a change and probably the only time ever I actually agree with the comments made by Ernie Newman.
