PalmPilot - I always thought it was weird
Handspring - which is even weirder
Gizmondo - what were they thinking
HipTop - brought to you by Danger Inc.
And now we have the FlipStart, funny name but a cool looking product. I notice they have chosen that apparently dead technology called CDMA EVDO RevA as the embedded 3G technology of choice and Sprint as their 3G partner. It is refreshing to see an American company supporting RevA first, usually they go for UMTS first and CDMA as an afterthought. For those of you who are not aware FlipStart is the latest venture from Paul G Allen so of course the FlipStart runs Microsoft.

I played with the FlipStart last month while in Seattle. Nice, little, nifty - but heavy and chunky.
