This is another good reason to come and live in Wellington. We don't have water meters and water is included in our rates. There is no such thing as water restrictions and we don't have to worry about how much water we use. I think nothing of regularly emptying and refilling 1000litres into the hot tub because I am too lazy to keep the chemicals balanced. If I did happen to burst a pipe, which poured the equivalent of two Olympic sized swimming pools down the drain, I wouldn't be too worried because I wouldn't get a bill.
You can't beat Wellington on a good day.

You don't pay water rates?

Then there's the capital value water rate, the uniform & CV sewerage rate and the stormwater rate.
If Ak charges ~$900 for all watery things then Wgtn isn't that far behind.

Or you could live in Petone where we have our own extremely high quality water supply that's separate from Wellington's and the Hutt Valley's, oi!

So it's you who we're subsidising with our water rates!
CJS, is your water supply the Gear Island plant that operates one or two days a month?
