Our freight forwarder phoned us today to advise that the truck transporting the container (with our pallet) overshot the Wellington delivery and instead boarded a ferry two days ago and ended up in Christchurch. With the ferry delays the truck is now on its way back to Wellington today but it must then drive through to Auckland so that our pallet can be unloaded from the container and then loaded back onto another truck which will drive down to Wellington to deliver it to us possibly Friday.
My pallet has now chalked up more miles in our country than your average Japanese tourist and it has taken more time getting it to Wellington from Auckland than what it took to get it from Korea.
Luckily it is not urgent.
