Woosh 1Meg? I say Wuse 1Meg

By Gary R, in , posted: 1-May-2006 20:06

A little to little to late. I want to know why Woosh took so long to up the speed? Where is the 'first mover' advantage? You would think that with so few customers relative to the overall market, upping the speed 6 months ago could have worked to their advantage. What do you have to lose? I can understand that it is still a new business with a big investment begging for a return and growing too big to soon can lead to pains but seriously?

With something like 1.6 million homes with some sort of internet access in NZ the market is ripe for the plucking and growing fast can have its advantages, think new capital. From my own estimates Woosh probably has a presence in around 2% of the connected homes with each Woosh household being worth around $7K of capital invested so far.

Missed the boat? I am starting to wonder.

Last Result: Download Speed: 138 kbps (17.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 54 kbps (6.8 KB/sec transfer rate) :-S Though my reception is TERRIBLE and i'm on the most saturated site in the country using it at the worst time of day.
