To strengthen their VDI initiative and cater to the evolving delivery model for platforms and apps, VMware is acquiring Thinstall. Thinstall is a competitive offering already OEMed by BMC and LANDesk and is quite different from the most visible offerings in the marketplace - Altiris SVS and Microsoft SoftGrid.
