Vodafone 3G - First Impressions

For some time, I have wanted to get my hands on a 3G phone so that I don't have to put up with the pain of using GPRS when I'm away from home and outside of Woosh's far from expansive coverage. Until now, though, I have insisted on keeping my thingy in my pants (my wallet, I mean), in the expectation that I would eventually be able to get a decent non-imported 3G handset in the $300-$400 price range. I was therefore thrilled to be able to get my hands on a Nokia 6630 for $400 last ni (read the entire post)...

When can I get a real camera phone?

I have always believed that camera phones would be great if they were good enough to replace a standalone camera, but a complete waste of time otherwise. In the eight months that I have owned my Motorola V500, I have never used its integrated VGA camera for anything other than testing purposes, but it would be a totally different story if I had a phone with a 3 megapixel camera and a decent flash. So, with Sony Ericsson's K800 soon to be available, is now the right time to consider tossing a (read the entire post)...

The $300 3G sweet spot is close.

On odd occassions when I travel out of town, I rely on GPRS to maintain access to the Internet, which is very slow compared to the broadband connection that I use at home. It would be nice to be able to enjoy the faster download speeds that a 3G handset would offer, but I have stubbornly decided that I am unwilling to invest in this technology until I can get hold of a 3G handset with bluetooth support and iSync compatibility for $300 or less.

Will the iPhone Ever Happen?

When visiting macrumors.com this morning, I couldn't help but notice yet another article carrying speculation that Apple will inevitably release a phone with their brand name on it at some stage in the next year. Speculation about this has existed for a very long time, and there is no sound reason to believe that anything in the next 12 months will prompt Apple to launch such a product.
Let's face it, the market for new handsets is saturated as evidenced by recent consolidations in (read the entire post)...

Finding a good pair of cheap earphones.

With so many different earphones on the market, it's not easy to choose the best option, particularly when you're looking for a pair to match an iPod. I'll admit that it seems elitist that we iPod users insist on ensuring that our accessories don't clash with our elegant devices, but there is no denying that some earphones are more worthy of the iPod than others.

Enter Apple's In-Ear headphones. Opinions of this product appear to be of the 'love or hate' variety, largely because the (read the entire post)...
