FREE 14-days World of Warcraft Trial Edition

, posted: 7-Oct-2006 17:17

Check this out next time you pass by EB Games store, and pick up their September edition, in the centrefold is the World of Warcraft advertisement, and there's a flap (voucher) for redeeming the 14-days trial copy. I have been waited this long and many people told me it is a great games, but what deterred me is the ongoing subscription to play online. Now I haven't got much time and don't have the same urgency to play online games... so clearly paying for WoW subscription to only play occassionally can be quite costly for me. I tried Eve Online using 14 days trial too, and I did make good use of the 14 days and it was fun however I did not continue it any further because of the subscription reason... As for WoW, I can get to try WoW without any cost incurred and see it for myself what this WoW phenomenal that Blizzard claimed over 4 millions are online playing it...

The annoying thing is you have to give them your credit card details in order to sign up.

From memory, you still have to supply them with your credit card details to open the account, even with the trial versions. My son recently started playing WoW and accounts could only be set up using a credit card or the bi-monthly prepay cards. The retail version of the product comes with one months credit, but he still had to buy the prepay card to set the account up to start with!

Yeah, you do need the credit card to sign up (for verification). It said that 14-days trial can be upgraded to monthly, 3-monthly or 6-monthly. And to continue playing WoW, you will need the retail package, use the retail key, and you get one month play, and options to use Credit Card charge, or 60-Days playtime card. Seeing that WoW has come down in price for retail ($40), if WoW is that good, it perhaps a good time to get retail package. (well onto the game now, after installing the Trial Edition, I need to get 1.12 patch via their built-in bittorrent client - 465MB)

Saw an advert on tele about Warcraft and though " Now I fancy a piece o that. " Also it mentioned a trial period to see if I would like it ( I'm sure I would love it.) but still I need a wee bit of guidance as I am but a novice on the old I.T.front. So any help would be much appreciated thank you. Sincerelly D.

HOW DO I GET A FREE TRIAL FOR WORLD OF WARCRAFT

Author's note by chiefie, on 9-Jan-2007 22:38

"Bob", as far as I know, most game stores should have WoW trial available for purchase for petty cash. In NZ it is $2.50-$4.00 for the trial game disc and 14-days of trial usage. EB Games had the coupon/voucher from their September issue, which you can save yourself some money and exchange it for the trail game disc. The trail game disc comes with its unique trial key, so even if one gives you the disc, you will need to obtain the free trial key somehow. Also, once installed and trial ended, you will need to get the full game itself and enter the key to start your MMORPG subscription.
