I know alot of people pronounce it "sequel" but I can't stand it!!@$*( SQL is an acronym not a word!

Yes MySQL is pronounced as it is written but MSSQL is sequel. I guess thats very confusing for the inept staff at Stuff.

I think that's understandable... a lot of the Americanised names and terms are hard for normal people. In the US, query, becomes "kwerry" for instance.
Microsoft was lucky though that the story wasn't about Onecare...
