A light plane has crashed into a helecopter in the Paraparaumu, Kapati area.
there are 2 dead from the helicopter, which has crashed thru the roof of Placemakers.
The pilot from the plane is in a critical condition.
The plane has crashed into a culvert on Dennis Taylor Ct. Just meters away from the runway at the Paraparaumu Aerodrome.
UPDATE: 12:30 - the pilot of the plane has been transported to Wellington hospital via Wespac Rescue helicopter.

UPDATE: 6:00pm - The pilot from the light aircraft died from injuries sustained in the crash.

I was shocked to read about it this morning online. When our family is home in NZ, we live on Paekakariki Hill Rd (and I've done many a visit to that placemakers store). I also use to know that guy that managed helipro operations in the Wellington area. What a tragedy.
