The Faculty of Applied Sciences on the University of Freiburg has developed an autonomous robot, based on the RoboSapien and controlled by a built-in Toshiba Pocket PC. The Pocket PC is equipped with a camera and communicates via infrared to the robot.
The NimbRo RS took part in the RoboCup 2004 Humanoid League competition. It came in third in the Technical Challenge where it walked up and down a ramp without falling (balancing challenge).
The RoboSapien-API for embedded Visual C++ is available for download from their website, and the documentation explains how to modify the RoboSapien in order to have the Pocket PC attached to its head.
