Belkin to Ship Cable-Free USB Hub

The Belkin Cable-Free USB Hub does not require a cable to connect to the computer, and will be available for purchase in the U.S. in mid-December.

Utilising Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology with the Wisair chipset, the Belkin Cable-Free USB Hub (F5U301) allows consumers to place a computer anywhere in the room and still be able to print, play music, scan, download photos, and burn CDs through a device in the vicinity, wirelessly.

With Belkin Cable-Free USB Hub is possible to connect devices from up to 30 ft. away, with data transfer speeds of up to 480Mbps for USB 2.0 devices. The kit includes a 4-port Hub, a USB Dongle (that connects into a computer), and a dongle stand to reposition the device and give optimum wireless reception.

Launch in Asia, Europe, and Australia will follow but there is no defined date as yet, pending respective country’s regulatory approvals. The device has a suggested street price of US$199.99.
