Twelve online retailers, including some of New Zealand’s largest brands, are going live on Fly Buys e-stores, Loyalty New Zealand Chief Executive Andy Symons said today.

Fly Buys is the largest loyalty programme in New Zealand with more than 40 of the country’s leading retail and service companies participating including Noel Leeming, BNZ, Shell, Visique, Mitre 10 and New World.

“New Zealanders have taken up online shopping with a passion. Fly Buys e-stores means our 2.2 million card holders can earn points at a range of cool new places, without having to battle the Christmas shopping crowds. E-stores is a hassle free way to sort out last minute gifts and you can get them delivered your door if you’re running short of time, and still collect Fly Buys Points.”

Fly Buys e-stores has signed up innovative brands covering consumer spending categories not traditionally part of the programme. Names on board for launch include Baby Star, Belly Beyond, Eureka Clothing, Fastflowers, James & August and Total Experience.

Louisa Currie, Belly Beyond Founder and Company Director said, “We’re looking forward to being introduced to the rest of New Zealand and are very excited to have this opportunity to work with the biggest brand in the country.”

Eureka Clothing’s Managing Director Melissa Cheals added, “This should help more people hear about us, and our kids clothing range, and it’s a way to get more value for our customers too.”

Adventure gift company, Total Experience is another business involved in the launch. Managing Director Mal Jack said, “We’re thrilled to build our business through this partnership and anticipate Fly Buys e-stores becoming a leading force in e-commerce.”

The size of the online retail market is estimated to be $2.6 billion and online shopping has grown more than fourfold since 2001, with nearly 1.4 million Kiwis making a purchase online in the last year.

I tweeted about this before, but the links on it are still dead for me.

https://www.flybuys.co.nz/e-stores/pages/http%3a%2f%2fwww.mitre10mega.co.nz - I would have expected that to forward onto the site with some cookie setting or something, but it just gets an error off the flyby site.

Lame web designer. I am guessing there is some trickery with scripting swapping the link out or something if I was to allow scripts to run.
