ASUS launches VivoTab Smart Tablet Windows 8 in New Zealand
ASUS is launching the VivoTab Smart through major New Zealand retailers this week. VivoTab Smart is an affordable new Windows 8 tablet with a 10.1-inch HD display and a suggested retail price of NZ$ 829.

Thin and light, VivoTab Smart features an Intel Atom dual-core processor for full compatibility with new and existing Windows 8 software.

Just 9.7mm thin and weighing 580g, VivoTab Smart has a LED-backlit display with a 1366 x 768 HD resolution. In addition, IPS display technology delivers 178-degree wide viewing angles and ensures clear and bright images, even when seen from the side. VivoTab Smart also features 5-point multi-touch for fluid fingertip control with Windows 8.

With its Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor, 2GB RAM and 64GB storage VivoTab Smart delivers fast and responsive performance, while still providing up to 9.5 hours battery life on a single charge. VivoTab Smart is compatible with both Windows 8 Store and Desktop apps, along with plug and play support for a wide range of existing peripherals.

VivoTab Smart features high-quality cameras, front and rear. The 8-megapixel rear camera has auto-focus, a five-element lens and 1080p Full HD video recording. The front 2-megapixel camera is perfect for face-to-face video chat. VivoTab Smart also features renowned ASUS SonicMaster audio technology for incredible sound quality with all kinds of listening material from its built-in stereo speakers.

VivoTab Smart is available in white or black and will be sold through authorised ASUS resellers and major retailers including Noel Leeming, JB HiFi, Harvey Norman and Dick Smith Electronics.

ASUS plans to introduce accessories for the VivoTab Smart, including a TranSleeve Keyboard that magnetically combines screen protection with a wireless keyboard for enhanced productivity. More information on the accessories will be announced by ASUS later in 2013.
