Dell and Google launch premium professional Chromebook
Dell announced the continued expansion of its collaboration with Google with the launch of the Dell Chromebook 13, a premium 13.3-inch professional Chromebook solution. The new Dell Chromebook 13 offers performance from up to 5th generation Intel Core i5 processors, an ultra-sleek design and up to 12 hours of battery life.

Along with powering businesses with the speed and simplicity of Chrome for Work, the Chromebook provides customers with manageability and security software and applications, which allow it to fit seamlessly into any professional computing environment.

“Working in a high paced environment like The Weather Channel, it’s essential we have the right technologies in place so we can stay up to date with the latest information and power our continuous coverage,” said Nicholas Gardner, sr. director corporate technology, The Weather Company. “The Dell Chromebook 13 we’ve been testing has provided us with a secure, powerful and easy to manage device that we can use both in the office and on location. We’re excited by its potential and look forward to seeing it come to market.”

“Our latest Chromebook offering is designed for the mobile professional, and provides customers with an unrivalled Chrome experience which mixes the cost and simplicity benefits of Google’s Chrome portfolio with Dell’s commitment to design,” said Kirk Schell, vice president and general manager, commercial client solutions, Dell. “Not only does the solution offer customers a superior mobile working experience, but with the availability of Dell’s leading security, management and ProSupport Plus service, it is also easy to integrate into wider device ecosystems.”

The latest Dell Chromebook offers options for performance, speed and mobility, thanks to Intel Celeron, Core i3 and i5 processors with up to 8GB of system memory, and up to 12 hour battery life.

The Chromebook 13 features premium chassis materials including a carbon fiber weave cover, magnesium alloy palm rest and aluminum base making it light and sturdy. The expansive 13.3-inch full high definition IPS display offers brilliant luminance and wider viewing angles with both touch and anti-glare non-touch options available. In addition, the displays are designed to provide long life, durability and high scratch resistance with the Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touch solution. The backlit keyboard and precision touchpad provide a perfect balance of usability and maximum accuracy, constructed to meet the needs of the mobile workforce. The Chromebook 13 includes an outstanding Google Hangout experience with the full high definition IPS display and dual array microphones with integrated stereo speakers.
