Apps for phones releases development toolset and IDE for J2ME
apps for phones announced the first product in their range of developer tools for creating applications for phones, wireless devices, smartphones and other devices that support the J2ME standard. apps for phones provides easy to use, yet sophisticated, development tools for building applications. The company is creating a range of tools that works straight “out of the box”.

The apps for phones Development Environment is a sophisticated and fully functional Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that has been specifically developed to address the needs of software developers who are building applications for phones. One of its key differentiators is that everything needed to create programmes is included in the product, there is no need for multiple software downloads, no need to integrate different pieces of software and no unnecessary complexity, we take car of all of this. Of course it also includes all of the features you would expect and need to build first class applications for phones.

  • Advanced Class browser for application and MIDP browsing
  • Fully Functional Text editor with Code Completion
  • Sophisticated Debugger including break points, multi-threaded operation
  • Full Emulation of the leading phones and other wireless devices
  • State-of-the art project manager and build system

“We have focussed specifically on the needs of software developers who wish to work with the J2ME platform.” commented Chief Product Officer for apps for phones, Andrew Terry. “They need high performance tools that are reliable, easy to use and deliver excellent productivity. The tools need to be specifically designed for the job in hand, namely creating applications for phones, rather than just generic Java ones.”
