YellowLabs launches free home maintenance app for Kiwis
Posted on 11-Nov-2015 10:40. | Tags Filed under: News.

New Zealand homeowners now have a way to manage their most valuable asset and get the help they need to maintain it, with the launch of Yellow/home, the first mobile app from YellowLabs.

The free app retrieves the most up-to-date local council information about the user’s property including council value, estimated market value and the size of the property. It also creates a personalised maintenance plan based on information specific to the house, allowing homeowners to keep on top of caring for their home.

The app provides useful DIY tips on how and when to complete maintenance jobs and recommends businesses to get them done by tapping into the 240,000 Rich Profiles on Yellow Online.

A Rich Profile has more content specific to a business, making it even easier for potential customers to find that business online. The extra content also makes it easier for consumers to find what they’re looking for on Yellow Online.

Yellow Chief Executive, Michael Boersen says Yellow/home is the first tool created by YellowLabs to help New Zealanders manage their lives more easily.

“We know property is important to Kiwis. Whether it’s the family home or an investment property, for most of us it’s the biggest investment we’ll ever make.
Yellow/home has been created to help home owners easily protect the value of their home for years to come.

“Like all YellowLabs tools, it’s been designed to be learnt from as people use it. YellowLabs is about inventing and creating together, so as people are using it we’ll be improving it.”

App functionality includes the ability to:
  • Get all the information about your home in one place including: council value, estimated market value, property and house size, the decade the house was built and the materials it is built from
  • Get a personalised maintenance plan for your home
  • Personalise your maintenance plan further by adding tasks, notes and photos
  • Set up alerts so you don’t miss the basics e.g. checking smoke alarms
  • Quickly find businesses near you that can help with your maintenance plans by tapping into Rich Profiles
  • Easily contact the local services you need.
