Sierra Wireless and KPN to deliver the Voq Professional Phone in the Netherlands
Sierra Wireless announced that it has signed an agreement with KPN to launch and sell the Voq Professional Phone and the VoqMail Professional Edition product to customers in the Netherlands. The new Voq Professional Phone, a Microsoft Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 device developed by Sierra Wireless, is expected to be commercially available to KPN customers in the second quarter of 2004.

"For the majority of mobile professionals, fast, reliable access to customers and their information is critical at all times. And in today's competitive business environment, a mobile phone and e-mail have become the fastest and most effective means of communication for keeping in touch with the world," said Brian Stout, Director Business Line Business market, for KPN. "With the Voq Professional Phone, Sierra Wireless has tackled two of our customers' major demands with one, unique communication solution that addresses the voice and e-mail needs of our enterprise and corporate customers in one complete package."

The new Voq phone will operate over KPN's GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network, including global roaming. A complete communication solution for busy professionals, the Voq phone will enable KPN customers to stay connected with a fast and secure mobile solution that provides easy access to corporate and personal information wherever they need to be.

"The Voq phone has been designed to provide busy mobile professionals with a compelling solution that combines best-in-class voice connectivity and data functionality. Through KPN's extensive network and global roaming agreements, and Voq's ability to function as a high performing phone and messaging solution, end users can ensure they stay connected wherever they are," said Derek Evans, Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA for Sierra Wireless. "We are proud to continue our partnership with KPN by offering the complete suite of Voq Professional Phone products - a new mobile solution that combines the best features in wireless technology for today's mobile professional."
