RSS is a technology that allows web site publishers to make their content available through a syndicated “feed” that users can select to receive on a software called RSS reader (a list is available down in this article).
Many commercial web sites and blogs publish summary level content through their RSS feeds. RSS feeds are constantly updated with the latest information from the content provider’s site. Using RSS, users can receive the most up-to-date information, delivered to them in their RSS reader.
You can read Geekzone articles on your computer by subscribing to our RSS feed. Our latest articles (news, reviews, articles, software, competitions and forums) are included in the feeds.
To use these feeds simply right-click and copy the link to your RSS feed reader. Or you can click one of the buttons below to subscribe with one of these free services:

There are also Pocket PC freeware alternatives...
I like to use PocketFeed at http://www.furrygoat.com/Software/index.html
There is also RSS Sync at http://home.worldonline.dk/viksoe/rsssync.htm
Last but not least, TodayPlus includes an RSS feed reader at http://www.dark-mojo.com/TodayPlus (You must be registered to enter the forums to download the program)
That's right... I used PocketFeed for a while and the only thing I don't like is that you have to download all feeds even if you only want to update one of then.
And the problem with RSS Sync is that it's only available through ActiveSync. I often download RSS feeds while connect through GPRS or wi-fi.
Speaking of free newsreaders for Windows, Mozilla's Thunderbird e-mail program is a great newsreader. Just Add New Account > News & Blogs, and away you go. Integrates well with Firefox, too.
