Handango announce People's Choice Awards winners

The results of the Handango People's Choice awards for the spring are out. The People's Choice awards are bi-annual awards designed to honor the best mobile applications as chosen by customer votes. From 30 September 2003 through 30 March 2004 Handango customers casted their votes for their favorite J2ME, Symbian OS, Palm OS and Windows Mobile applications.

The winners in each category are:

Windows Mobile Pocket PC
  • Best Business Solution -- Pocket Informant by WebIS, Inc.
  • Best Education Solution -- DictionaryToGo by LearningToGo
  • Best Game -- Star Mercenary by EppurSiMuove Soft
  • Best Healthcare Solution -- Personal Health & Diet Manager by Two Peaks Software
  • Best Lifestyle Application -- MySportTraining by Expose Corp.
  • Best Productivity Application -- Pocket Hack Master by Anton Tomov
  • Best Use of Wireless -- Rudeo Control for Windows Media Player by Rudeo ConsultingSoftware LLC

    Palm OS
  • Best Business Solution -- 2xCalc by Laura Watts
  • Best Education Solution -- DictionaryToGo by LearningToGo
  • Best Game -- CHESS TIGER by ChessTiger.com
  • Best Healthcare Solution -- Diet & Exercise Assistant by Keyoe, Inc.

  • Best Business Solution -- ActiveViewer by SIMEDA GmbH
  • Best Education Solution -- LangToLang English French Dictionary by Ascendo
  • Best Game -- SEGA Soccer Slam by Sega Mobile
  • Best Healthcare Solution -- emerdat by tridcomm
  • Best Lifestyle Application -- WebViewer by Reqwireless, Inc.
  • Best Productivity Application -- Norbsoft nCard by Norbsoft
  • Best Use of Wireless -- BlinkNews by Brainspeed, Inc.

    The developer of each winning application will receive US$5,000 in marketing promotions as well as right to the title "The People's Choice."

    In order to vote, customers had to register on Handango. Each person was limited to one vote per product. More than 50,000 J2ME, Symbian OS, Palm OS and Windows Mobile Pocket PC applications were eligible to receive votes. Handango has reopened voting for Fall People's Choice awards. Winners will be announced 30 September 2004.
