Handango releases October 2004 mobile download stats
Posted on 12-Nov-2004 15:57. | Tags Filed under: News.

Handango released the October 2004 edition of the Handango Yardstick, a monthly report on the state of the mobile downloads economy.

For the first time, two software developers and their applications made the best-seller's lists across three different phone platforms each. MobiMate and Makayama are the creators of the WorldMate series and the various editions of DVD to Mobile, respectively. Their applications were best sellers in the Symbian OS, Palm OS, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile categories, indicating perhaps the emergence of two non-gaming application franchises.

In October, the Sony Ericsson P910 made its debut on the list of top phones adding content after launching in September 2004. The appearance of the Sony Ericsson P910 to the list continues the trend of high demand for Symbian OS applications.

The October 2004 Handango Yardstick also reports average selling price by category, number of new mobile applications, average selling price of digital media and much more. Lastly, the October edition features the ten best- selling applications by operating system.

All these software titles are also available from the Geekzone Software Store, powered by Handango.
