Good Technology, Inc. has introduced the GoodLink 4.0 featuring Zero-IT-Touch management of GoodLink and other smartphone applications; Global Connect technology providing support for GoodLink on any CDMA or GPRS carrier in any country around the globe; more productivity-enhancing Outlook-like features; and support for a broader range of Pocket PC and PalmOS standards-based handheld devices.
Organizations can now deploy and upgrade GoodLink and more than 35,000 wireless security, productivity and vertical business applications available for PalmOS and Windows Mobile smartphones entirely over-the-air, with no need for IT to physically touch the mobile devices, even the first time they are deployed. This new feature is part of GoodLink 4.0's Secure Over-The-Air (Secure OTA) technology.
Simplifying wireless application management even further, GoodLink 4.0 provides interfaces for IT to set-up and customize self-service Web-based request forms, enabling fully automated user activations. Customers can take advantage of Zero-IT-Touch management on a broad range of industry standards- based devices, including the palmOne Treo 650, palmOne Treo 600, XDA I, XDA II, XDA III (including the Sprint PPC 6600 series), Samsung i700, and HP iPaq 6300 series.
GoodLink 4.0 also provides end-user enhancements that increase power and flexibility for the mobile enterprise, including a 300 percent boost in over-the-air sync speed and up to a 25 percent increase in battery life. True multitasking and a significant number of familiar Outlook features including Preview Pane, Calendar Week View, Flag For Follow-up and Out of Office Assistant enhance productivity for power email users.
GoodLink 4.0 will be available in mid-first quarter 2005. Customers can purchase GoodLink through the Good Technology web site or through one of Good's Value Added Resellers.
Good also announced a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, the world's largest technology distributor with nearly 165,000 channel partners, under which it will offer a combined GoodLink-Treo solution. Also introduced was the GoodLink Hosted Edition for VARs and ASPs, extending GoodLink wireless messaging to enterprises that rely on hosted Exchange environments.
The company also announced new sales and support in France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, and Mexico.
