Microsoft releases Experience Pack for Tablet PC
The new Microsoft Experience Pack for Tablet PC provides some useful and fun applications that take full advantage of the Tablet PC pen.

One of the applications included in the Experience Pack for Tablet PC is the Ink Desktop, which allows users to write down notes directly on the desktop area for quick and easy access, like a phone number, address, or top priorities for the day.

The Snipping Tool allows users to select and capture a portion of the screen, for example part of a Web site, document, or application, and add handwritten comments, save or send it in an e-mail message. The captured area can be a circle, square, or freehand image.

Ink Art simulates an artist's toolset. Users can choose from different textured canvases, paint brushes, chalks, crayons, and more. The software takes advantage of the Tablet PC pen's pressure sensitivity, so shading looks natural.

For entertainment the Experience Pack for Tablet PC adds Ink Crossword, which comes with 12 puzzles, and more available for free every day. The Media Transfer software gives the user a mechanism to replicate a library of media files from the home computer into a Tablet PC. Digital media playback can be managed with a new Energy Blue Theme Pack, that includes a Windows Media Player skin with knobs and buttons that are easy to control using the pen.

These applications are available as a single download, but users can select to install all or some of the programs.
