Cingular Wireless is adding wireless e-mail and data capability to its range of solutions for business customers by directly offering GoodLink, Good Technology's wireless messaging and data access software and service.
The company says it is the first wireless cellular company in North America to offer GoodLink directly to B2B clients.
The new GoodLink solution from Cingular Wireless offers email and PIM capabilities on a choice of Palm OS and Windows Mobile business devices. The software runs on Cingular's Siemens SX66 Pocket PC Phone Edition, a phone/PDA combination running an Intel 400MHz processor and a unique slide-out keyboard. The software also runs on palmOne Treo 650 with access to Cingular's EDGE wireless network.
The GoodLink solution from Cingular provides business customers with a continuous two-way wireless synchronization of all Microsoft Outlook functions, such as e-mail, calendar, contacts, notes and tasks, when within Cingular coverage areas, including roaming. The platform offers end-to-end AES data encryption, remote data wipe and remote password policy management.
Cingular is also providing a service for secure over-the-air (OTA) device provisioning and management.
Cingular is offering GoodLink as an end-to-end service for a monthly fee of US$44.99 per month for unlimited data with a qualified voice plan. Customers must purchase a US$1,500 one-year Starter Pak and a one-time US$99 per user GoodLink Client Access license. With the Starter Pak, GoodLink customers get one full year of IT support directly from Good Technology as well as support from Cingular's business customer care group for the life of their contract.
