Telecom New Zealand has gone live with a new prepaid mobile billing system based on Singl.eView and Inter-mediatE from Intec. Intec is an OSS software vendor for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks.
Telecom New Zealand operates New Zealand's major national telephone network and a nationwide mobile network using CDMA technology, analogue AMPs and digital AMPs.
The solution for the prepaid mobile system centres on Singl.eView Convergent Billing (CB) and Singl.eView Commerce Engine (CE). Singl.eView CB combines rating and invoice functionality with flexible account reporting and hierarchy management, including flexible tariff, discount and product packaging and consolidation of all products and services used by a customer onto one bill. Singl.eView CE is a real-time authentication, authorisation and accounting module that advises customers how much they will be charged for a service and allows them to see their available balances before they decide to proceed.
Telecom New Zealand has also installed Intecís Inter-mediatE solution to replace its existing legacy voice mediation platform, and to rationalise its requirements onto one system to support the rollout of new IP-based services. Mediation systems collect, process and validate network traffic information from switches and other systems to facilitate key business processes such as billing and customer care.
