I am participating as a panelist on a Google AdSense webinar this 30 June (1 July in New Zealand due to timezone difference), promoted by the Google AdSense team. And Geekzone is one of the case study.
Cool! What an honour! Last month I got an e-mail from AdSense asking if I could answer a few questions, and from there came an invitation to participate on an on-line seminar to new Google AdSense publishers. Geekzone is one of three websites being used during the seminar, and the only non-US based one.
We had a few e-mails exchanged, including the presentation slides to be used, and a dry run over a live connection to make sure everything works.
This is very nice. Apparently they decided to get a small publisher site and based the decision on traffic (I think they look at HitWise stats for this). Also, check the badge on the side: according to HitWise, Geekzone is one of the top ten websites in IT/Media based in New Zealand.
If you don't know, the Google AdSense is the program responsible for showing the text-based, context specific advertising we have here on Geekzone and in our RSS feeds .
