Zingy Acquires Vindigo

Zingy Inc. has announced the acquisition of mobile information pioneer Vindigo. With the acquisition, Zingy will be able to provide content in every major category from personalization and entertainment to information and community.

Zingy content is available through every major carrier in North America, as well as Latin America. The Company provides content management and distribution services to a variety of partners including carriers and media companies, as well as mobile marketing services to more than 150 brands.

"The market for mobile content is exploding in the U.S.," said Zingy CEO and Founder Fabrice Grinda. "The combination of Zingy and Vindigo creates a true broad-based mobile media company. No single company can match our portfolio of mobile content and services. Zingy remains profitable following the acquisition and we are experiencing strong growth across each of our business groups."

The company has been working in the personalized mobile media market with content such as ringtones, ringbacks and wallpapers. Zingy has content distribution agreements with more than 400 partners and 4,000 songwriters and artists.

Vindigo is best known for information and subscription services such as the Vindigo CityGuide. Vindigo acquired back in October 2004. Its content also includes artcles from The New York Times, MapQuest, and CelebrityNow, plus FotoShare, mobile chat and dating.

"With the acquisition of Vindigo, Zingy will offer valuable content for mobile consumers of every age and interest.
