i-mate Launches Charcoal JAM Pocket PC Phone Edition in the US Market
i-mate USA has announced the launch of the i-mate Charcoal JAM mobile phone for the U.S. market. Following on the worldwide success of the original JAM, the Charcoal JAM includes advanced Windows Mobile features, with twice the built-in memory at 128 MB.

The new i-mate Charcoal JAM retains the same design and compact dimensions of the original JAM, which is the slimmest Pocket PC on the market, but comes in a distinguished charcoal color.

The i-mate Charcoal JAM has a suggested retail price of US$665. The original i-mate JAM will continue to be available at a suggested retail price of US$649.

The device, powered by Windows Mobile Second Edition for Pocket PC, is Bluetooth compatible, features a 1.3 mega-pixel camera and video recorder and includes e-mail, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player 10, Pocket Outlook (calendar and contacts), Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, mobile gaming, text messaging, multimedia messaging, MSN Messenger, a built-in voice recorder, hands-free speakerphone and integrated antenna.

The handset is an unlocked GSM/GPRS (tri-band) device that can operate on the Cingular and T-Mobile networks as well as any other GSM network.

In addition to the i-mate Charcoal JAM and the i-mate JAM, i-mate also offers the i-mate SP3i, a Windows Mobile Second Edition smartphone.
