Geekzone 50 Million Pages Served
Wow! I checked the site stats this morning and got a nice surprise: today is the day when Geekzone passed the 50 million pages served mark!

That's very nice. I remember when the site was created in early 2003 and took us a month to pass the 25,000 pages point - and even then a lot of people were impressed with that.

The 50 million page milestone comes just a couple of months after our Geekzone Party 2005 (Wellington), where we got together to celebrate 40 million. The growth rate is getting faster now...

Big thanks to our readers, supporters (all our readers are, but this includes suppliers), and commercial relationships.

A big deal of our readership comes from the USA (about 55%), but a good bunch (25%) comes from New Zealand. We try to have more local content, but this is also provided by your posts in the forums. So thanks a lot for all those comments, replies, flames and [insert preferred brand] is better than [insert not so preferred brand] comments in the forums.

We will be celebrating this in Auckland, during our Geekzone Dinner Auckland 2005, later in November 2005. Make sure to visit the thread and reply there if you are attending.
