It looks like Citylink is expanding its CafeNET Wi-Fi (wireless LAN) service and running some good promotions here in New Zealand.
First there's a Double Token Deal going on in Wellington. It is on until the end of October 2005 and users an buy a 140MB token for NZ$20 (this would normally buy 70MB). I buy a 70MB token every second month, because I don't use it that much (once a week when I go to town for my Wednesday meetings in Astoria)
What's better than this? When you buy this Double Token Deal you get a free cup of coffee. You can only get this from Cafe Mambo in the Grand Plimmer Tower on Plimmer Steps, The Duxton Hotel - 179 Wakefield St, and Cafe Goblin on Level 2 of the James Smith Arcade.
The network is also expanding: in Wellington there are a couple more access points in Cuba Mall - one near Slow Boat Records which gives broad coverage around that end of Cuba Mall and there will shortly be one by the Bucket fountain.
In Palmerston North there is coverage around the Square as well as the Library, the Airport, Convention Centre and lots of other places.
In the Hawkes Bay coverage has expanded around the Napier CBD, Havelock Village, the Hawkes Bay A&P Showgrounds, and Station Road.
In Auckland we have coverage now in the Brookfields Atrium between Albert St and Queen St.
And Nelson has some spots including the Air NZ terminal at the Airport and the Richmond Library.
