Dopod Expands Lineup with new Dopod 818pro Pocket PC Phone Edition
Dopod International has announced its latest product model, the Dopod 818pro Pocket PC Phone Edition, with 5 colours for lifestyle consumers choices.

Available first in Singapore, the Dopod 818pro is the follow-on to the successful PDA phone Dopod 818 and its alike (such as O2 mini in Asia) and being manufactured by High Tech Computer (HTC) under the codename HTC Prophet. Dopod is an exclusive HTC strategic partner in Asia.

The Dopod 818pro comes in silver, matt black, lavender, pink and blue. It also comes with WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth A2DP, GPRS, Quad band GSM, EDGE and a 2-Megapixel camera with macro photo taking function. The industry prevalent MMC/SDIO slot, expanded memory size allows users to expand memory and use peripherals based on the SDIO standard.

Powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0, and running on a TI OMAP 200MHz CPU, the Dopod 818pro offers 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM for storage and program execution. It comes with a full suite of applications for viewing and editing files, like Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, and Outlook Mobile including contacts, calendar and email.

Users can access the Internet using its built-in Pocket Internet Explorer web browser, while connected through Wi-Fi, GPRS or EDGE networks.

The screen is a 2.8 inch TFT display touchscreen, and the device comes with a 2-megapixel built-in camera with macro.
