i-mate Smartflip Smartphone To Be Available in Australia and New Zealand

While details are still not finalised, it seems that i-mate is planning to release its sensation ultra-thin Windows Mobile Smartphone down under.

The new device was spotted during the 3GSM Congress in Barcelona, Spain. We managed to source a couple of high resolution images of this new device, which should be available in Australia and New Zealand by April or May 2006.

The specs (which are subject to changed until the official announcement) are:

  • Windows Mobile 5.0 (no confirmation of AKU2 yet)
  • TI OMAP 850 CPU running at 195 MHz
  • 2.2 240 x 320 (QVGA) TFT LCD (internal)
  • 1.2 128x128 TFT LCD (external)
  • 64 MB Flash ROM, 64 MB SDRAM
  • GSM (quad-band, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • GPRS / E-GPRS Multislot Class 10
  • Bluetooth v1.2
  • CMOS 1.3 Mega Pixel camera
  • Infrared IrDA / mini-USB
  • microSD slot
