Kodak has announced a set of new technologies, including its pocket sized V610 with 10x optical zoom and Bluetooth, the EasyShare One with WiFi support, updates to the Kodak EasyShare Gallery and coming technolgies that include facial recognition and photo sharing (Konga).
The Kodak EasyShare V610 dual lens, 6MP, 2.8" LCD, pocket-sized digital camera now offers 10X optical zoom (38 - 380 equiv), using two Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon all glass, non protruding prism lens. Also included in this new model is Bluetooth wireless networking (though no details as to whether it's Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) Bluetooth). This camera will be availabe worldwide in May and will have a RRP of US$449.
Another new camera is the new EasyShare One, a 6MP that has the option to add in a WiFi accessory which enables it to connect to hotspots so users can e-mail pictures. Available sometime around June with a camera price of US$299 and its optional WiFi accessory is US$99.
Kodak is also releasing their EasyShare picture management software for free download beginning in May. This will be version 6.0 which offers a new user interface and card printing features.
Kodak have enhanced their online gallery website, kodakgallery to integrate it further with more aspects of their software and cameras. Using this online service, users can send photos from their gallery account to their camera phones, save as wallpapers and send photos from their phones back to their online collections.
Finally Kodak also announced up and coming developments that include facial recognition software so that sorting your collection for specific people will become a possibility and a technology they call Konga which "will enable instant sharing of images between family and friends as interactive as instant messaging in a Konga like line"
