i-mate Provides Windows Mobile 5.0 Users With Remote Management Software
Posted on 25-May-2006 06:50. | Tags Filed under: News.

The i-mate Suite is a new mobile device and data management solution from i-mate and available for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. The software helps users to minimise downtime, safeguard data and securely transfer information on the go.

It is also the ideal solution to provide a corporate IT manager the same command over Windows Mobile devices as it does over his PC infrastructure, but all remotely, so that IT structures and polices can be implemented over all the devices in the organisation.

The i-mate Suite solution comprises three modules: i-mate Control, i-mate 1-View and i-mate Backup. The software offers mobile functionality without losing control of either security or compromising data.

i-i-mate 1-View safely extends access to corporate networks and files to Windows Mobile devices, expands mobile device storage, and provides document, data, and file sharing. i-mate Control allows enterprises to safeguard sensitive data, remotely configure or troubleshoot devices, automatically update all devices in the field wirelessly and remotely customise devices. i-mate Backup provides remote wireless data backup and restore of Windows Mobile devices.

The complete i-mate Suite allows users to engage in a host of activities such as browse files on home or office PCs from anywhere, share data between specified group members, extend the corporate network into the field, access a PC or Windows Mobile device from mobile devices (and vice-versa), remotely erase data if a device is ever lost or stolen, troubleshoot devices remotely, roll out new applications easily, customise information and other resources to have one look and feel and perform sophisticated wireless backup processes remotely.

The company is offering a free 30-day trial of the new service, which is priced at US$9.99 per month. A hosted solution is aimed at SME and individual professionals.
