Vodafone offers video content in Portugal
In a move to show its capabilities, Vodafone Portugal (Telecel) broadcasted the Portugal x Brazil soccer match, over GPRS.

With the co-operation of television channel TVI, Vodafone Telecel customers owning a Nokia GPRS 7650 handsets, enabled for Vodafone live! video services, were able to watch live broadcast of the match between Portugal and Brazil on Saturday 29th March.

This is believed to be an opportunity to Vodafone to show its Vodafone live! service with some services deemed as "3G" ahead of the competition. Vodafone live! has a selection of video feeds, including news, stock exchange information, and movie trailers available to customers using the Nokia 7650. These services are available in Portugal and other countries where GPRS roaming is available.
