Palm, Inc. have announced the availability of the Palm Treo 700wx running Windows Mobile 5.0, adding a Palm EV-DO product to Telecom New Zealand's product offerings.
The Treo 700wx combines a mobile phone with the Windows Mobile platform. This is the New Zealand's first Windows Mobile Treo smartphone.
Palm's Treo 700wx includes fast, automatic wireless updates of email, calendar items, contacts and tasks through Microsoft DirectPush functionality and the Microsfot Security Feature Pack (MSFP), which work with Microsoft Exhchange Server 2003 SP2 to provide push e-mail and security policies management.
The device also provides dial-up networking (DUN) capabilities so users can connect to the Internet wirelessly with EV-DO speeds. A built-in 1.3-megapixel camera allows consumers to record still images and videos. Also integrated is Bluetooth 1.2 wireless technology for communicating with compatible headsets, car kits, computers and printers equipped with Bluetooth technology.
