New Zealand company wins FileMaker Award
New Zealand-based software developer Digital Fusion Ltd has won the FileMaker Excellence Award for Solution Of The Year at the international FileMaker Developers Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

"Reactor", a plug-in for the FileMaker Pro database system, won the hearts of both attendees and FileMaker Inc. judges who chose it for its innovation, high quality, and contribution to the FileMaker Pro platform.

FileMaker Pro, from FileMaker Inc. in Silicon Valley, is an integrated database system used by over 14 million users world-wide to solve business problems.

Reactor integrates Web 2.0 features absolutely seamlessly into FileMaker Pro databases, allowing the SMEs and corporate work-groups who use FileMaker databases to easily leverage web technologies in their solutions.

"With Reactor in your toolkit, database developers and users have access to a whole new world of opportunity to extend the features of their solutions, through both ready made open-source technology such as the many JavaScript and Flash controls available on the internet, or by writing their own custom widgets", says Digital Fusion CEO Craig Saunders.

Reactor includes a set of ready-made controls that any developer can use right out of the box, making it extremely easy and highly productive to use. Ready-made controls include a Gantt Chart, Day Calendar and a Live Search features.

Already Digital Fusion have sold several thousand licenses for the Reactor software, and won contracts to do additional customisation work for a number of offshore companies.

Digital Fusion Ltd is a 16 person company, developing software solutions for the SME and corporate workgroup markets. They've specialised in FileMaker as their platform of choice for bespoke, rapid development projects. They also develop web applications using PHP/MySQL.
