Yellow and Skype have teamed up to give Skype users three months of free calling to businesses listed on the yellow.co.nz website. Under the collaboration, Skype users can also access Yellow’s business advertiser listings in New Zealand and find relevant business contact information from Skype’s Directory within its 4.0 client.
Blair Glubb, Director of Digital Media at Yellow, says the Skype trial is further evidence of Yellow’s growth ambitions in digital media.
“We believe, by initiating this trial, we’re adding real value for our advertisers as well as bringing new and innovative ways to connect consumers with businesses.
“In addition to a profile in Yellow’s print, online, mobile and voice channels, our partnership with Skype seeks to make it simple and easy for our advertisers to be connected with both existing and potential customers - over 405 million Skype users worldwide”.
”We are delighted to work with Yellow to deliver additional value to Skype users and send business leads to Yellow’s business customers ,” said Dan Neary, Asia Pacific Vice President and General Manager for Skype.
Calls to businesses listed on yellow.co.nz, and highlighted, will be free of charge to users. For those calls a brief message at the start of the call will confirm that it is free.
Users can make as many free calls as they like between now and the end of the trial on June 10.
Mr Glubb says subject to the success of the trial for both Yellow and Skype, Skype calling could become a permanent feature of yellow.co.nz.
