Freelancer.com has set up shop in the land of the long white cloud, with Freelancer.co.nz going live, connecting New Zealand small businesses and users to the world's biggest online workforce.

The company says the site is the world’s largest outsourcing marketplace with over 1.8 million professionals from around the globe.

Through Freelancer.co.nz, New Zealand small businesses will now be able to outsource just about any project they can think of - whether it be web design, marketing, accounting, finance or software engineering- any time of day, for a fraction of the cost.

Posting a project takes seconds. The average project is under $200, and starts at $30, making it extremely cost effective to get just about anything done.

"We're excited to be launching in New Zealand today," said Matt Barrie, Chief Executive Officer of Freelancer.com, "New Zealand is the land of small business, technologically savvy and by being geographically remote New Zealanders have a global perspective on doing business". "Kiwis can now turbo-charge their businesses and cut their costs through a dedicated website catering specifically for them and in New Zealand dollars".

Recent completed projects include redesign of a website and addition of a shopping cart (22 bids, $891 average), writing of a business plan for a country club (20 bids, $288 average) and design of a drive train for a remote control car (18 bids, $137 average).
