On the eve of its debut at the prestigious Tech-Ed North America, JOOB Mobile announces advanced meter infrastructure company Arc Innovations as a foundation customer.
A leader in the New Zealand smart meter market, Arc Innovations will use JOOB Mobile to provide new services to users of their smart meters, says Jade CEO Craig Richardson.
“With JOOB Mobile, users can access any business system while they are on-the-go. No more time-consuming trips back to head office to update records; everything can now be done in the field, on any mobile device, in real time.
“In a tough economic environment where margins and revenues are increasingly under pressure and costs scrutinised, JOOB Mobile helps companies become more productive,” says Richardson.
Arc Innovations – a strategic business unit of Meridian Energy – has operated in the highly competitive smart meter sector since 2005. The company intends to use JOOB Mobile to provide new smart energy services to the SME sector, says Mark Kellaway, Senior Product Manager.
“It was an easy decision to use JOOB Mobile. JOOB enables us to provide support for multiple platforms, including our primarily targeted Web and iPhone, with a fast turnaround time.
“JOOB Mobile will enable a dramatic difference to be made to our customers’ businesses by allowing Arc to deliver services that help them to better understand their electricity use and thereby reduce consumption. By using this technology we will be able to save our customers money and put less stress on the environment.”
Richardson adds: “Every business with a mobile workforce or people on-the-go could benefit from the efficiencies that JOOB Mobile can help deliver. With sales of smart devices such as iPads, iPhones and androids expected to outstrip PC sales from 2012, the ways that businesses connect and communicate have changed forever.
“The planet is rewiring itself to be mobile and JOOB Mobile helps businesses to operate in an increasingly mobile world.”
