HTC Corporation today unveiled the HTC Sensation and HTC Wildfire S, available exclusively on the Telecom New Zealand network.

The launch of the HTC Sensation and HTC Wildfire S introduces new generation smartphones with an impressive combination of display, design and functionality.

“The HTC Sensation and HTC Wildfire S are our first Android devices to be launched in partnership with Telecom New Zealand,” said Ben Hodgson, Country Manager, HTC Australia and New Zealand. “We’re excited to be bringing our latest Android devices to the growing New Zealand smartphone market. The HTC Sensation is a smartphone that is designed to deliver a sophisticated multimedia experience, integrating faster processing speed and new HTC Sense functionality into a slim unibody design and crystal clear 4.3 inch qHD display. The HTC Wildfire S is a compact smartphone that delivers high end features and an advanced smartphone experience at an affordable price.”

Telecom Chief Marketing Officer, Kieren Cooney, says Telecom is pleased to partner exclusively with HTC to offer the latest Android devices on XT.

“For HTC, the best thing about choosing XT, is that our network was specifically designed for smartphones. Customers can now use the fastest Android with a fast processor on our smartphone network.

“These HTC devices on XT are first to the market in Australasia, and demonstrate our commitment to deliver New Zealanders high quality devices, accessible prices, and plans that give customers more flexibility and confidence to use data on their smartphones,” said Mr Cooney.

The HTC Wildfire S will be available for a RRP of $599 from 1 July 2011, and the HTC Sensation for a RRP of $1099 from early July 2011 online at telecom.co.nz/mobile or at Telecom Retail Stores nationwide. Customers who pre- register now for the two HTC devices at www.telecom.co.nz, will receive $100 off the RRP.

The HTC Sensation’s premium look and feel is enhanced by its rounded edges and aluminum unibody construction. Additionally, the touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger glides across it. The 4.3-inch qHD display delivers high-resolution true 16:9 widescreen viewing and gives the HTC Sensation slender proportions that feels natural in a person’s hand. At the heart of the HTC Sensation beats a powerful, 1.2-gigahertz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which enables a superior multimedia experience and all-round fast performance.

Building on the popularity of HTC Wildfire, the HTC Wildfire S is a compact but powerful device, featuring a 3.2 inch touch screen and a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash. The HTC Wildfire S enables people to build and establish connections and friendships through an easy Facebook share experience, Friend Stream (which groups all your friends’ social network updates together) and an intuitive caller ID displaying name, number and vital information including birthday reminders.
