Posted on 26-Jul-2011 14:44. | Tags Filed under: News.

Symantec.cloud (formerly MessageLabs) has announced two appointments to further support the company’s operational focus across the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region; firstly Chris Russell has been appointed the new Corporate Sales Manager, ANZ, and secondly Tim Bentley has been promoted to the newly-created role of Corporate Sales Director ANZ.

As the Corporate Sales Manager, ANZ for Symantec.cloud, Chris Russell will manage the company’s SMB (Small to Medium Business) Sales team, with a focus on driving new business opportunities and expanding .cloud services within the SMB market across Australia and New Zealand.

The company says Chris possesses a wealth of experience and understanding of the needs and security challenges for the SMB sector. Chris is passionate about making cloud solutions more accessible and understandable for smaller businesses throughout ANZ, taking advantage of Symantec.cloud’s ever-expanding product portfolio, which includes email and web security, archiving, encryption, content control, email continuity and endpoint protection. Since joining the Symantec.cloud team in 2009, Chris has been recognised as a top sales performer in Asia Pacific and Japan.

Tim Bentley’s elevation to the role of Corporate Sales Director for the ANZ region will further develop the company’s regional market presence by accelerating new business opportunities within existing clients and managing high-performing sales teams.

With more than 12 years of experience in the IT industry and nine of those at Symantec.cloud (formerly MessageLabs), Tim has set the benchmark in sales performance at Symantec.cloud, recently ranked as Top Sales Director globally and previously awarded Top Sales Person in APJ over several consecutive years.

Commenting on the new team structure, Keith Buckley, Symantec.cloud’s Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand, said, “The expansion of the sales and business development team structure is a result of Symantec.cloud’s business growth in the region, and will enable us to strengthen our relationships with existing and future clients to bring value, recognition and rewards to those involved.”

Chris Russell and Tim Bentley will both report to the Regional Director, ANZ and be based at Symantec.cloud’s offices in Sydney.
