Samsung New Zealand says teaming the Samsung GALAXY S II with XT, the smartphone network, will create a remarkable mobile experience.

The Samsung GALAXY S II, powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and featuring a 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor is enabled for 21Mbps on HSPA+ network connections, available nationwide on XT.

Stefan Lecchi, Head of HHP, Samsung Electronics New Zealand says, “Kiwis are already in love with the Samsung GALAXY family of smartphones and tablets, so we’re excited to see the GALAXY S II make its debut on Telecom’s smart phone network. Couple this with Adobe Flash support and you have one of the fastest mobile experiences available.

Telecom Chief Marketing Officer Kieren Cooney says, “We’re delighted to welcome Samsung GALAXY S II users to our smartphone network – they’re going to enjoy a mobile experience second to none.

“Fast download speeds means video with less buffering, super–fast applications and connecting through Facebook or Twitter with ease.”

At just 8.49mm thin with a powerful processor, sharp 8-megapixel camera and vivid 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display, the Samsung GALAXY S II marks a significant evolution from its predecessor, the successful GALAXY S.

A range of apps comes pre-loaded, including Samsung Dive – a free remote find, lock and wipe service which offers complete peace of mind if you ever lose your phone. Kies Air allows users to sync their Samsung GALAXY S II with their PC, and back up personal information via Wi-Fi.

Many more apps are available through Samsung Apps, and Samsung GALAXY S II users also get exclusive access to integrated portals like Social Hub and Readers Hub.

The Samsung GALAXY S II is available from Telecom New Zealand stores, dealers and online at

Customers can purchase the Samsung GALAXY S II for $0 upfront on the Smartphone 100 plan or higher for a 24 month contract term.

It can also be purchased outright for NZ$1099.
