CDW Cloud Collaboration

Technology solutions provider CDW is adding the CDW Cloud Collaboration to its solutions and services portfolio. CDW Cloud Collaboration leverages Unified Communications to provide staff the ability to seamlessly collaborate. This can be done by utilizing VoIP, conferencing, IM, file sharing or blogs.

 



CDW believes using cloud to host Unified Communications is a winning formula because the pay-as-you-go model reduces capital expenditure required for self-hosted solutions. It also allows organizations to quickly activate features and take advantage of the capacity scalability offered by those solutions.

 



The CDW Cloud Collaboration is powered by the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) and offers all the Cisco applications for an on-premise UC solution. The platform supports a wide range of collaboration capabilities, including voice, video, voicemail and integrated messaging, presence and instant messaging, mobility services and Web collaboration.

 



Customers can choose from a selection of packages ranging from a Standard configuration allowing a single device per user (either an IP phone, desktop client, mobile client or lobby or conference room) through Premium configurations where users can have multiple devices and extended capabilities, including single number reach, desktop video, ad hoc audio conferencing, voice mail and unified messaging, Instant Message and softphone clients. Between those two extremes customers can select from other two configurations, allowing the organisation to select the appropriate licensing style needed for their business.

 



Another advantage for organizations using a cloud solution is the worry-free administration of client software installed in user’s PCs. The IT department does not have to worry about keeping their users up to date with the latest software anymore, as CDW implements all patch management and software versioning needed to keep the service always updated.
