Star Crush: A Nerd's Hope

, posted: 19-Aug-2008 11:14

You have to admit, nerds can be an optimistic bunch. Take, for example a recent case I have come across: A nice but otherwise unassuming IT support guy, burried away deep in the bowels of some anonymous IT department, rarely seeing the light of day and otherwise only interacting with the rest of humanity through IRC channels.

Like many 'nerds', he had an affection for Lara Croft, or more accurately, Angelina Jolie, as illustrated clearly by the big movie poster hanging over his desk. When it was pointed out to him that she is well and truly off the market (having children and also being in a rather happy looking relationship), he replied: Well, those actresses and celebrity relationships and Hollywood, you never know what can happen...

So, wait, let me get this straight!

You are holding out for Angelina Jolie, hoping she will leave ... who was that again? ... ah, yes: Brad Pitt (!) for you? Here, let me help you with a little overview chart I made:
Angelina Jolie needs to choose between Brad Pitt and you...

I mean, I'm sure there's someone for everyone, and I congratulate you for your sense of hope and optimism. But honestly? Really now, I just don't think so...
